1. Sponsor
PEMentor Challenges ("Challenges") are sponsored and administered by AVOXIQ LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company doing business as PEMentor ("PEMentor," "Sponsor," "we," "us," or "our").
Business Address: Loading mailing address…
Website: https://pementor.com
Contact: support@pementor.com
2. Eligibility
Challenges are open to individuals who, at the time of entry:
- Are at least 18 years of age;
- Are legal residents of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia;
- Have a valid PEMentor account in good standing; and
- Comply with these Official Rules.
All eligible PEMentor account holders may participate, regardless of whether they have free, paid, or complimentary access.
Creating a PEMentor account is free. No purchase, subscription, payment, or entry fee is required to participate or win.
Purchasing a subscription does not provide additional attempts, scoring advantages, or preferential treatment.
Owners, officers, and employees of AVOXIQ LLC, individuals directly involved in administering or developing a Challenge, and members of their immediate families or households are not eligible to win.
Challenges are void where prohibited by law. Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility before awarding prizes.
3. Challenge Entry and Participation
Each Challenge will display its specific details before entry, including:
- Challenge name and applicable exam category;
- Start and end dates and times;
- Latest permitted starting time;
- Number of questions and applicable time limits;
- Number of advertised prize-winning places;
- Prize descriptions and approximate retail values; and
- Any additional participation requirements consistent with these Official Rules.
All dates and times are displayed in Eastern Time (ET), unless otherwise expressly stated.
The Challenge-specific details displayed before entry form part of these Official Rules.
To participate, an eligible user must access the Challenge during its designated entry period, review and affirmatively accept these Official Rules, and select Begin.
Each participant is permitted one attempt per Challenge.
During a Challenge:
- Each question has a specified time limit.
- The question timer begins when the question is presented.
- Timers cannot be paused.
- Leaving or refreshing the page does not pause the timer or restore an attempt.
- Participants cannot return to previously completed questions.
- Unanswered questions do not receive credit.
- Participants must begin early enough to complete the Challenge before its published closing time.
The Challenge start screen identifies the latest permitted starting time.
A participant who begins but does not finish before the Challenge closes will receive credit only for qualifying answers recorded before the closing time.
Creating an account or verifying an email address before a Challenge opens does not begin an attempt, provide advance access to questions, or affect scoring.
4. Scoring and Winner Determination
Challenges are competitions of technical knowledge and skill. Winners are determined using objective scoring criteria rather than random drawings.
All participants in the same Challenge are subject to the same scored questions, scoring criteria, and applicable time limits.
Eligible entries are ranked according to the following criteria, in order:
First: Number of Correct Answers
Participants with more correct answers rank ahead of those with fewer correct answers.
Second: Total Answering Time
When two or more participants have the same number of correct answers, the participant with the lowest total recorded answering time ranks higher.
Answering time is determined using the Challenge platform's recorded timing data, measured in milliseconds. Server-maintained records are authoritative. Displayed or rounded times do not determine official ties.
Exact Ties
If two or more participants have identical correct-answer scores and identical total recorded answering times, they share the same rank.
PEMentor uses competition-style rankings. For example, if two participants tie for first place, both rank first, and the next participant ranks third.
Prize-Winning Places
Each Challenge advertises the number of prize-winning places before entry.
Every eligible participant whose final rank falls within the advertised prize-winning cutoff receives the applicable advertised prize.
Participants tied at the prize cutoff also receive the applicable prize, even if this increases the actual number of winners.
For example, if one winner is advertised and two eligible participants tie for first place, both receive the full advertised prize.
Prizes are not divided among tied winners. The advertised prize-winning cutoff will not be reduced after the Challenge begins.
The likelihood of winning depends on participants' relative performance and the number of eligible entries and cannot be determined in advance.
Additional Scoring Rules
The following factors do not affect rankings:
- Account creation date;
- Subscription or payment status;
- Registration or email verification time;
- Absolute Challenge starting or finishing time, provided the attempt complies with the entry period; or
- The order in which entries are reviewed.
If a question is determined to be materially incorrect, defective, or ambiguous, Sponsor may exclude that question and its associated answering time from scoring for all participants.
All standings are subject to eligibility verification, technical validation, and compliance review before becoming final.
5. Fair Play and Disqualification
All Challenge entries must represent the participant's own individual work.
Participants may use an applicable NCEES reference handbook lawfully available to them and calculators permitted for the relevant examination.
Participants may not:
- Receive assistance from another person;
- Use artificial intelligence tools, automated answering systems, bots, or similar assistance;
- Share, distribute, request, or receive Challenge questions or answers during the active Challenge period;
- Use multiple accounts or submit multiple attempts;
- Manipulate timers, scores, submissions, or platform functionality;
- Interfere with another participant's ability to compete; or
- Attempt to gain an unfair advantage through unauthorized technical means.
Sponsor may review unusual timing patterns, duplicate accounts, suspicious activity, and other evidence of potential rule violations.
Sponsor may disqualify an entry when reasonably supported evidence indicates that these Official Rules were violated.
Where practicable, affected participants will be notified of disqualification and may request reconsideration by contacting support@pementor.com within seven days of notification.
Sponsor will review good-faith disputes consistently and make final determinations based on available evidence, subject to applicable law.
If a disqualification changes prize eligibility, rankings will be recalculated using the remaining eligible entries.
6. Prizes and Prize Fulfillment
6.1 Prize Availability
Prizes may vary between Challenges.
Each Challenge's start screen will identify the prize or prizes available, the approximate retail value of each prize, and the number of advertised prize-winning places before entry.
Depending on the Challenge, prizes may include:
- Complimentary PEMentor access;
- Extensions of existing PEMentor access;
- Digital gift cards; or
- Other rewards expressly described in the applicable Challenge details.
Each eligible winner receives the full prize advertised for their winning place.
The advertised prize will not be changed after the Challenge begins, except that Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the original prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside Sponsor's reasonable control, where permitted by law.
Prizes are nontransferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless expressly stated in the applicable Challenge details or required by law.
6.2 Complimentary PEMentor Access Prizes
When a Challenge awards complimentary PEMentor access, the prize will provide the exact duration advertised on the Challenge start screen.
For Challenges advertising 30 days of complimentary PEMentor access, each eligible winner receives 30 additional consecutive days of access to the applicable PEMentor educational features, regardless of their existing subscription or purchase history.
Complimentary access prizes will be fulfilled as follows:
Winners Without Active Paid Access
Winners without active paid or complimentary access will receive the advertised period of complimentary access beginning when the prize is activated.
No purchase, payment method, or commitment to a recurring subscription is required.
Winners With Active Monthly Subscriptions
Winners with active monthly subscriptions will receive the advertised complimentary access benefit without losing any previously purchased access.
Sponsor will extend the applicable access period and coordinate any necessary billing adjustment so the winner receives the full advertised complimentary duration without additional subscription charges attributable to that awarded period.
Any recurring billing adjustments will be administered by Sponsor through its payment or subscription management systems.
Winners With Prepaid Access Bundles
Winners who purchased prepaid PEMentor access, including three-month and six-month bundles, will receive the advertised complimentary access duration in addition to their remaining purchased access.
The complimentary period will be scheduled to begin immediately after the winner's existing purchased access expires.
For example, if a winner's prepaid access expires on December 31 and the advertised prize is 30 days of complimentary access, the additional access will begin January 1 and continue for 30 consecutive days.
Existing purchased access will not be shortened, replaced, or forfeited as a result of winning.
Winners With Existing Complimentary Access
If a winner already has complimentary access from another promotion or Challenge, the additional awarded period will be scheduled after their existing access expires.
Multiple access-duration prizes may be accumulated. Awarded periods will not overlap in a way that reduces the total duration earned.
Preservation of Awarded Access
Once awarded, complimentary access will remain available for its full advertised duration even if a winner cancels an existing paid subscription or allows previously purchased access to expire.
Winners are not required to make additional purchases to retain or activate an earned complimentary-access prize.
6.3 Prize Administration
PEMentor may fulfill access-related prizes through its internal administrative systems, Stripe billing adjustments, or a combination of both.
Prize fulfillment may be completed manually by Sponsor, including scheduling the commencement and expiration of complimentary access.
The method used to administer a prize does not change the advertised benefit owed to the winner.
Winners will not be required to make an additional purchase, provide a payment method, or activate a new paid subscription to receive an advertised complimentary-access prize.
Complimentary access awarded to users without an existing recurring subscription will not automatically convert into a paid subscription.
Previously purchased and awarded access will be preserved, and the full advertised complimentary duration will be provided in accordance with these Official Rules.
6.4 Digital Gift Cards and Other Prizes
When digital gift cards are offered, the Challenge details will identify the gift card issuer, value, and applicable redemption conditions.
Digital gift cards are subject to the disclosed issuer terms and applicable law.
Other prize types, if offered, will have their material terms and conditions disclosed before entry.
No additional purchase will be required to claim an advertised prize.
6.5 Taxes
Winners are responsible for any applicable federal, state, or local taxes associated with prizes.
Sponsor may request appropriate tax information and issue applicable tax forms when required by law.
7. Results and Winner Notification
After a Challenge closes, Sponsor will review entries, verify eligibility, investigate potential rule violations, and finalize rankings.
Results will be published through the PEMentor platform following completion of the review.
Winners will be notified through their PEMentor account and by email using the address associated with their account.
Winners are responsible for maintaining accurate contact information.
Where a prize requires the winner to provide information or take action to claim it, the winner will have 30 calendar days after notification to respond.
If a winner is ineligible, refuses the prize, or fails to respond after reasonable notification attempts within the claim period, the prize may be forfeited and offered to the next eligible ranked participant, applying the same scoring and tie rules.
Prizes that can be applied directly to a winner's PEMentor account may be delivered automatically without requiring a response.
8. Winner Information and Privacy
To recognize Challenge winners, PEMentor may display each winner's first name and last initial in the Challenge results available to authorized PEMentor account holders.
Other participants may view their own results and rankings in accordance with the platform's available features.
PEMentor will not publicly display a winner's full legal name, email address, mailing address, or tax information solely as part of the Challenge results.
Personal information collected in connection with Challenges will be handled in accordance with PEMentor's Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Where additional consent is legally required for publicity or use of a participant's identity, Sponsor will obtain that consent separately.
9. Technical Issues, Disputes, and Cancellation
Participants who believe a Challenge question was incorrect, ambiguous, or improperly scored may contact support@pementor.com within 48 hours after the Challenge closes.
Sponsor will review submitted concerns and may correct verified errors using a consistent method applicable to all affected participants.
Sponsor is not responsible for interruptions caused solely by a participant's device, browser, local network, or internet connection, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
If a significant platform malfunction, security incident, technical error, or event outside Sponsor's reasonable control materially compromises Challenge fairness or integrity, Sponsor may take appropriate corrective action, including extending the Challenge, rerunning the affected Challenge, or canceling it where no fair alternative is reasonably available.
Any corrective action will be applied consistently and communicated to affected participants.
If a Challenge is canceled before winners are validly determined, no prizes will be awarded for that canceled Challenge unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Sponsor will not cancel a Challenge merely because of the number of entrants, the number of eligible winners, or the financial value of prizes required by the published tie rules.
10. General Conditions
By participating in a Challenge, participants acknowledge that they have reviewed and accepted these Official Rules.
PEMentor's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply. In the event of a conflict regarding Challenge entry, scoring, eligibility, or prizes, these Official Rules and the applicable Challenge-specific disclosures govern, to the extent permitted by law.
These Official Rules are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Sponsor is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from ordinary technical interruptions or participation in a Challenge.
Nothing in these Official Rules excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Sponsor may update these Official Rules for future Challenges. The version accepted by a participant when beginning a Challenge governs that participant's entry and will not be changed retroactively.
PEMentor is an independent educational platform. Its Challenges are not sponsored, administered, or endorsed by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
